The tiny orchid Tony mentions is Corybas caudatus, which came from Rogier van Vugt at Hortus Leiden. My Superfan tier earns you a personal greeting from me in the mail including a limited edition postcard, as well as ad-free episodes.

So I travelled over there collected this infructescence brought it back photographed it took the seeds out of it and then I had to ship the seeds back to them so I could continue growing them. This is one of Tony's biggest bugbears, who says home-made fertilisers are “a total waste of food or total waste of time. Need a podcast that sates your desire for house plant information, relaxing chat and general leafiness. And once you've broken the, the non-facts down, you can say, 'Okay, well, how do we fertilise our plants? I mean, at least five days a week, but I you know, sometimes I have to go away and do all the work and what have you.

Well, here we are at the last episode of season 5 of the podcast and I thought we’d go out with a bit of a bang! What is it about, this is what's fascinating about houseplants, though, is that for one person, something could just spark off this incredible reaction in away, you're absolutely fascinated. Light can also be used to manipulate plants, to encourage flowering, for example, and Tony uses a light meter to determine the best spot for them. So congratulations, Tony and I'm sure you'll get a fabulous response from people who do go out and invest in a copy.I try and have plants that are you know, super easy care maybe you know five pounds first ever plant for someone right up to plants that collectors are looking for. You might have noticed when you're here any care plants that come in with care labels, they're removed.

I have to admit, I thought this chapter so important that it could have been one of the first in the book.

The subtitle of this new book from Tony Le Britton is 'comprehensive care for extraordinary house plants' and this indeed what this book delivers. Some common, some rare and some super rare – but they all have one thing in common with eachother, they are all in the best possible hands. Keith talks to me about his passion for horticulture, his own personal garden and all of his other many exciting interests. Tony Le-Britton is a self-taught grower and prolific houseplant collector of some of the world's rarest plants. Tony gives helpful advice and his informative expertise explains how to keep your plants healthy, and in tip-top condition.I mean, I just, I mean, you know, this is not my bag, but I can really appreciate the beauty of that leaf. I’ve said it before and I’ll certainly say it again, houseplants are set for a timely end if they enter our house – but all being well Not Another Jungle will put a quick end to that.
